Priscilla's Oven Baked Thick Cut Boneless
Pork Chops
I love pork chops, but I do not like dried out meat. Finding the right temperature to bake these at and how long was the first thing I needed to learn. Seasoning the pork was the second, which I learned on my bone in recipe I made, which is listed on my blog. The key is to always use a meat thermometer to make sure they do not overcook! I am making these today for my sister in law since she loves them!
Yield: 6
Ingredients:
6 boneless pork chops, approx. 1 inch thick
1 - 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil, I use a spray bottle with the olive oil to make things simpler
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 ½ tsp paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Prepare a 9x13 baking dish. Mix all the seasonings together in a small bowl.
3. Place the pork chops in the baking dish. Spray or drizzle the olive oil over the top of each pork chop. Rub the seasoning mixture and oil over all sides of each pork chop. This can also be done with a basting brush if you choose.
4. Bake for about 15 - 20 minutes, until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the meat rest for 5 minutes after removing from oven. Serve!
Notes:
Plan on 7-8 minutes of baking time per half inch of thickness. Internal temperature is the best way to check doneness though, since ovens and pork chops will vary.
